The MIUS – Madeira Island Ultra Swim, the biggest event for long distance open water swimmers in Portugal, took place last weekend, on the 11th and 12th of September. The event had 385 athletes registered, of which 37 are international swimmers.

In total, 50 clubs were represented, of which 39 are Portuguese clubs and the rest from 15 other countries.

The president of the Regional Government of Madeira, Miguel Albuquerque, congratulated those who reached the podium. And he took the opportunity to praise all those who organized the race and leveraged one of our greatest resources: the sea.
